4 Weeks

by Mrs. Smith on January 2, 2022

Turns out, it took 4 full weeks for me to get to a computer keyboard. If I had known this ahead of time, I would have made plans.

“Just so you know, everyone, when our new baby is one week old, y’all have to step in and give me an hour on a laptop so I can write up the birth story.”

Alas, we did not know it would be this way, and I have spent the last 4 weeks completely immersed in Babyland, where time does weird things.

Really weird things.

If you’ve been there before, you know how it almost feels like something out of a sci-fi movie. Time stops and then, POOF, you find yourself on the other side of some kind of portal and instead of a newborn, you’re holding a chubby, month-old baby. Time winks and waves, leaving you thinking, “Wait, where did that month go?”

Every time.
