Remember what the Birthday Fairy brought C this year?

The parents kids have enjoyed them to no end, as you will see.

Yes, Eagle won the binky war. For now, anyway. He started searching out small choking hazards and putting them in his mouth in absence of the pacifier… You understand.

Added note: The “pirates” are sailing the seven seas currently, with a “ship” built from every cusion off the play room couch (sigh) and a great big parachute tied to the tops of 5 chairs.

You know, I’m beginning to see that not only do children not *need* toys — they don’t even really *want* them. My kids, at any rate, are perfectly happy just being creative. Maybe I got lucky and happened to get creative genius children. Or maybe I just have three pretty normal kids (albeit abnormally cute, according to my biased opinion) who don’t have commercials …

This is such a travesty! I cannot find my camera.

Further, I can’t find it AND I have an awesome Wordless Wednesday situation going on upstairs. I can’t leave it this way forever, but I so want to share it… What to do, what to do…

I shall just tell you about it.
In fact, I’ll give you a blow-by-blow account of how *I* found out about it.

TIME: Tuesday afternoon.

SETTING: A Dear Friend watched my kids for me while I visited a different friend for about 45 minutes. Yay! It’s always lovely to do something like Visit Teaching w/o kids in tow. Plus, DF’s two daughters had already been over playing all afternoon with Cinderella. All in all, a great situation.

I get back and notice two things:
1 – Cinderella is wearing different clothes. Not a big deal. She hardly ever stays in the same outfit all …

I looked out my window and what did I say?
A fantastic post for Wordless Wednesday!
Eagle painted such a nice surprise,
With my lipstick and my liner for eyes.

I could take my children and lock them up.
It would be much safer for all my nice makeup.

It isn’t really so, but it sure appears to be,
My children seem to be much smarter than me!

Now, for the love of all things sane, children, let us please take a break from all this fantastic Wordless Wednesday food. Honestly. I’ve had enough during the last week to last me through the next 5 or 6 weeks.
So, so, so much fun.

PS: I only had about a half-dozen people ask me about E’s black eye that day whilst running errands. (A baby wipe can only do so much for that makeup job.) …

7pm: Going-to-sleep-time for the kids. Except not tonight. Late start.
7:05 – John leaves late for his meeting.
7:06 – the pajama battle begins.
7:10 – I decide to heck with the battle, they can sleep in their clothes.
7:20 – Finally got them all upstairs.
7:35 – 3 pairs of teeth brushed, check!
7:45 – story read, check!
7:50 – family prayers, check!
7:55 – Doodle wants drink of water. No problem, there’s a cup already there.
7:58 – Doodle tells me he will cry and cry all night long if he doesn’t get *more* water.
8pm – Tell Doodle to get his own dang water.

8:03 – I remorsefully meet Doodle in the hall, dub the interesting-looking water from the upstairs tap undrinkable, send him to bed and come back to his room to find this:

8:40pm – Exploding feather blanket dealt with. Drink of water obtained. Doodle …
