The Happy Day at Last has Come

June 17, 2011

It came! It was wonderful! I loved having family all together, which is probably my favorite side-effect of a wedding. Although we wouldn’t have wanted to have a wedding and our big move happening right on top of each other, it’s working out for the best. It’s certainly been a huge blessing...

Protecting Your Family

Protecting Your Family

So far this week…

So far this week…

We love Temple Square! I love the feeling there, even when the kids are a little squirrely, and even when the toddler wouldn’t leave the reflection pool alone. With it being a beautiful Monday evening, I expected to see more families.   The place was practically empty!  I guess the crowds only show up for Family Night...

For Sale By Owner

May 4, 2011

Just thought I’d mention there’s a lovely home for sale. Ours. We’d love to have it sold before we leave in, cough-cough, 8 weeks, so if you know anyone looking for a gorgeous 100 year old home, send ‘em our way.  Especially if they’re the kind of person who can look past the clutter & junk...

Once upon a time…

Once upon a time…

“I applied for a few management positions at work today.  With the huge re-org happening, there are several new jobs I think I’d enjoy more than what I’m doing currently.” “That’s great, Dear!” “Some of them are a little bit of a stretch, but if I’m going into management I want to be in a position...

A funny story for a Sunday evening.

March 27, 2011

Thanks to Misfit Cygnet for linking over to this article.  My husband and I are still chuckling about the following story related by Pres. Beck: Sister Beck told of a young couple with two young children and a new baby. Because the father had just broken his leg, Sister Beck and her husband decided to...

To Comment or Not To Comment…

That's a very good question.
I am happy to hear from you, thrilled to hear from you!, but I am also content to have you drop by, read a little, laugh a little, and move on quietly to whatever else you have to do. This is a guilt-free blog. ;)

Just a Reminder…

The Church is not a place where perfect people gather to say perfect things, or have perfect thoughts, or have perfect feelings. The Church is a place where imperfect people gather to provide encouragement, support, and service to each other as we press on in our journey to return to our Heavenly Father. ~Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin, (May 2005 Ensign)

Why I Try

God expects you to have enough faith and determination and enough trust in Him to keep moving, keep living, keep rejoicing. In fact, He expects you not simply to face the future (that sounds pretty grim and stoic); He expects you to embrace and shape the future - to love it and rejoice in it and delight in your opportunities. God is anxiously waiting for the chance to answer your prayers, and fulfill your dreams, just as He always has. But He can't if you don't pray, and He can't if you don't dream. In short, He can't if you don't believe.

~Jeffrey R. Holland, "This, the Greatest of All Dispensations"

"It is not for you to be led by the women of the world; it is for you to lead the...women of the world, in everything that is praise-worthy, everything that is God-like, everything that is uplifting and... purifying to the children of men." Joseph F. Smith, in this talk by Elder Ballard
