The lazy man’s update. It’s all about the pictures anyway, right?
- The “Hug a Tree Solution” for those sudden showers.
- The Castle Smythe
- Daddy, conqueror of the big wasp nest!
- Home made graham crackers. Mm.
- Creativity is in heaven with so many girls her age here!
- Fireworks on the 4th.
- We love these letters on that half-wall in our upstairs hallway. They’re part of my don’t-you-dare-climb-up-on-this-you’ll-fall-and-break-your-neck program. Thanks, Mom!
- Caught her reading to them when they thought I wasn’t looking. Love it!!!
- The rainbow over our house this morning.
- What is this? Using the spoon with your LEFT hand? Auntie Lou would be proud.
For the record:
That wasp nest housed about 25 wasps, and John made it through with only 1 sting. I aughta get a picture of said nest, where it is still sitting in the bucket-o-water outside.
Those homemade graham crackers were yummy but could have used a little more honey.
The unpacking goes well. Pictures of the house may be forthcoming soon.
Sorry, Castle Smythe, you don’t get your own post. They had fun destroying it last week and the boxes being reserved for Castle Smythe II are being dismantled, too. It was great fun while it lasted, but all good things come to an end. It’s a shame it’s so humid here and so buggy, or I’d keep the boxes around a bit longer. They make wonderful giant-sized blocks. And I do miss my castle-builders. It was fun to pretend my kids were as old as the neighborhood kids who were the self-proclaimed Castle Maintenance crew.
You’ll notice there are no pictures of our cloth diapers. They aren’t some of my favorite things. I do enjoy not spending $ on diapers, though, so there you have it.

Fun pictures. And kudos to you for clothing it–I thought about it for about ten minutes before I decided it wasn’t something I was able to reach.
For those interested (which, likely as not, is nobody), the shirt Eagle is wearing in the photo where Creativity is reading the book to her brothers was my shirt when I was roughly Doodle’s age. That’s a picture of me on the shirt. Old shirt. They don’t make ‘em like they used to!
And that picture of 2yo you is verrrrrrrrrry faded. The resemblance is striking, though, despite Eagle looking like my side.
left handed! I knew he had it in him!
