Goodmorning Smithlings!
Guess what Mommy did.
I left the SD card for the camera in the computer yesterday morning. You probably don’t know what that means, but basically it means that without a cord to connect the camera to the computer, the pictures are stuck. And guess where the cord is! Yep, it’s in a box on the boat coming here.
So this will have to be a post without many pictures, my dears. Aw, shucks.
Sunrise this morning. The clouds are so pretty! It's funny how it's warm outside while it rains, and how the rain blows over quickly. One minute it's blue skies overhead - the next minute it's raining - the minute after that it's cleared out again.
We had a nice day yesterday, though. Mommy,F & G had breakfast at BYU-H, and then we walked around campus a little. It’s been raining off and on here, so Mr. F had a good time splashing through puddles. It was pretty cute.
Mr. F had fun "talking" with everyone at the Kahuku Grill Monday. They all smiled and laughed at his cute little "language."
There’s a pool that I can take you to when you get here. It doesn’t have a shallow part, so it might be tricky to bring you by myself. Daddy will have to come, too. I saw a picture of you on my phone yesterday sitting at the side of the pool with your friends. It looked like you were having lots of fun! Maybe you’ll be great little swimmers by the time you get here.
After that, Mommy called a friend who lives close to campus and went to go visit. We ate a fruit I’ve never ever tried before called… oh, what was it?… a funny name. Lilikoi! That’s what it was. Another name for it is “passion fruit.” It looks like a round, yellow ball, and when you cut it open it’s filled with a clearish goo and crunchy seeds. You don’t actually eat the hard part all around it – you get a spoon and scoop out the goo. Its pretty funny looking, but it tastes sour and sweet at the same time! Yummy.
I also had an “apple banana” there. These were fruits that were growing in their backyard, can you believe it? Apple bananas are about half the size of the ones we’re used to, and they taste a little different. Almost like green bananas, but not quite.
After lunch, I took the boys back to our hotel for nap time. I slept way too long, and I missed your bedtime call. By the time I woke up you would have all been asleep. So sorry! I hope you all slept well. It gets dark earlier here than you’ll be used to. By 8pm the sun has gone down. By the time I got back to the university to pick up Daddy, there wasn’t a lot of daylight left.
This is his last day here. Tomorrow night you’ll see him around dinner/bedtime. Hooray for you! Then it will be just me and the little boys here for a week until you come. I can’t wait to show you our new house! I think you’re going to love it. Give each other big hugs from me and Daddy. We’ll see you soon!
Love,
Mommy
