Little Dragon
Aw, isn’t “Little Dragons” a cute name for a class full of 4 year old Tae Kwon Do dudes?
I thought so, too.
Doodle was just a little bit happy, just a little bit excited, and just a little bit awed by the whole white-belt-testing ceremony thing. Me too.
John did martial arts in high school, so it was all pretty familiar for him, but it was totally new to me.
I was thoroughly impressed by the kids testing out of yellow belt, that’s how ignorant I am.
(Hello! They could walk across the room on their *hands*!)
I was amazed how Doodle was cool with the whole testing process. He didn’t seem nervous about a whole room full of people watching just him and the two other 4yo’s who were man enough to do it.
Tough kid, he is.
And happy, he was, about getting the new belt.
He still gets pretty excited about wearing it.
I’ve actually thought quite a lot about pulling him out of class for the summer. It would be so nice to have absolutely no outside commitments to plan around.
Sigh.
Every time I go to talk with someone about it, though, I just can’t quite do it. I’m not sure why. Something about that face, maybe? Something about the way Master Kim is so completely and obviously in his element when he’s teaching? I don’t know.
For now, Little Dragon, keep at it.

What. A. Stud.
Leave him in! It will be so worth it and you won’t regret it.
He is such a cutie! Love the “little dragon” name. Man – I just wanna give that kid a hug!
they say karate is good for hemophiliacs as long as there is no sparring . . .how much do his classes cost?
More than I like to remember offhand. I’ll have to look it up for you today when we go.
We’ve got a neighbor with a boy in the beginner class, so if you did start N, you two could carpool… I’ve missed that since D tested out of white belt.
LOVE the photos. I think I would keep him in, too
He is so grown up! Way to pass up to the next belt, Doodle!
