Be Careful What You Ask For…

To the Person or Persons who stole John’s 2 work laptops,

You are welcome to them.  One more step along the path of decluttering, right?  No, seriously, I was really struggling to wean myself off the computer, and this has helped tremendously.  Next time, however, please ask first — it’ll go better for you in the next life if you do.

Thank you

for not snooping around or stealing anything else while you were here uninvited, and thank you for leaving the premises before the kids and I came home.  That would have been a little awkward, I’m sure.

Thanks also

for leaving the screen in tact when you took it out to get in.  Boy, it took serious guts to do something like that on a street-facing window in broad daylight.  You really didn’t need to inconvenience yourself, though; the back door was open.  Maybe you came in that way just to make me feel better about leaving the back door unlocked.  How nice of you.

I hope you find what you’re looking for, and I certainly hope it doesn’t involve any more breaking and entering.  Use your “bravery” to do something constructive next time.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Smith

OH MY STARS!!! What a blessing not to be home and have traumatized children. They only took the laptops? [amateurs! :P ] So glad all are safe, though…really. :)

Life can be wonderful and even humorous when you look things from a positive perspective. Glad you are a half-full type of person. Love you!

That's a very good question.
I am happy to hear from you, thrilled to hear from you!, but I am also content to have you drop by, read a little, laugh a little, and move on quietly to whatever else you have to do. This is a guilt-free blog. ;)

Just a Reminder…

The Church is not a place where perfect people gather to say perfect things, or have perfect thoughts, or have perfect feelings. The Church is a place where imperfect people gather to provide encouragement, support, and service to each other as we press on in our journey to return to our Heavenly Father. ~Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin, (May 2005 Ensign)

Why I Try

God expects you to have enough faith and determination and enough trust in Him to keep moving, keep living, keep rejoicing. In fact, He expects you not simply to face the future (that sounds pretty grim and stoic); He expects you to embrace and shape the future - to love it and rejoice in it and delight in your opportunities. God is anxiously waiting for the chance to answer your prayers, and fulfill your dreams, just as He always has. But He can't if you don't pray, and He can't if you don't dream. In short, He can't if you don't believe.

~Jeffrey R. Holland, "This, the Greatest of All Dispensations"

"It is not for you to be led by the women of the world; it is for you to lead the...women of the world, in everything that is praise-worthy, everything that is God-like, everything that is uplifting and... purifying to the children of men." Joseph F. Smith, in this talk by Elder Ballard
