3 Boys & a Girl

My posts have been a little more rambling, a little less family journal lately, so I shall try to balance the scale a bit here.

Baby F – 8 months now.  Just two teeth still, sweet little baby.  He’s just beginning to army-crawl, and he will pull himself to standing.  Mobility, here we come!  He’s in the gottabewithmommyeverysinglemoment stage… And I’m trying to remember that it doesn’t last forever.  Nothing with kids ever does, except for the cuteness.  Cute lasts forever, for sure.

Mr.E is two and a half and showing it.  It’s a blast – until he doesn’t get something he wants, and then it really is a blast as he blows his top.  KA-BOOM!  Ah, the tantrums of a two year old.  That’s just a stage, too, and it doesn’t bother me near as much now as it used to.  Tantrums aside, he’s an absolute doll.

Doodle, 4.5, still tries to be a gentleman whenever he can.  Alas, the never-hit-or-kick-anyone stage has past, and he gets aggressive when threatened.  Or tired.  Or hungry.  Or just plain bored… We’ll be glad when this stage is over, too.

Sheesh!  It sounds like all my children are in unbearable stages right now!  Really, that’s not how it is.  Most of the time (when they aren’t beating on each other, screaming at me, or insisting on being held 24/7) they’re charming, sweet, funny, smart and creative kids.

camera shy

And speaking of creative, let’s make my eldest’s name-change official here. I got a little tired of calling her “Cinderella” here when she’s so totally grown out of the princess stage. (Huzzah!) It happened with that butch haircut, actually. Evidently princesses all have long, flowing hair, so being in that world hits a sore spot for her. Poor dear.

Creativity.

Thus and therefore, I began to call her simply “C” here, and switched her name to Creativity on our family blurb page.  (anybody notice?) It’s much more fitting, and indeed has always been the most fitting name for her.  I have problems with my “tags” now, and that’s a bit irritating, since “creativity” over there will take you to posts about things my kids’ creative-and-crazy children come up with… Oh well.  I’ll figure that out later.

We went to the park for Gramsie's birthday. It was lovely!

Oh, how I love this picture! She really is a remarkable lady! And she adores her grandkids, doesn’t she?

Children always have to have at least one annoying thing about them at every stage or they aren’t human, right? It’s a good thing everything else about them is so adorable. I wish my faults were half as charming.

I totally noticed that you changed the name…and find it very fitting. I’d been meaning to comment on the fact that I noticed it was changed…how fun to have an update about all your little ones!

I noticed, I noticed! (*Raising hand*) I think it suits her perfectly. Your kids are SO darling! And how, did I not realize (or maybe I did and I just forget, my brain is melting from the heat here) that we have two so close in age? Our Matt was six last March and our Ben was two last January. Crazy!

Oh, those are such fun pictures! And is it just me, or does baby F LOOK like your Grandpa Mann in that last picture? I totally saw the face and thought of him! Adorable!

I’m so behind. However, I will take it slow and savor each post. Your kids are darling, as usual.

That's a very good question.
I am happy to hear from you, thrilled to hear from you!, but I am also content to have you drop by, read a little, laugh a little, and move on quietly to whatever else you have to do. This is a guilt-free blog. ;)

Just a Reminder…

The Church is not a place where perfect people gather to say perfect things, or have perfect thoughts, or have perfect feelings. The Church is a place where imperfect people gather to provide encouragement, support, and service to each other as we press on in our journey to return to our Heavenly Father. ~Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin, (May 2005 Ensign)

Why I Try

God expects you to have enough faith and determination and enough trust in Him to keep moving, keep living, keep rejoicing. In fact, He expects you not simply to face the future (that sounds pretty grim and stoic); He expects you to embrace and shape the future - to love it and rejoice in it and delight in your opportunities. God is anxiously waiting for the chance to answer your prayers, and fulfill your dreams, just as He always has. But He can't if you don't pray, and He can't if you don't dream. In short, He can't if you don't believe.

~Jeffrey R. Holland, "This, the Greatest of All Dispensations"

"It is not for you to be led by the women of the world; it is for you to lead the...women of the world, in everything that is praise-worthy, everything that is God-like, everything that is uplifting and... purifying to the children of men." Joseph F. Smith, in this talk by Elder Ballard
