Mrs.Smith, I presume?

“I’m going to introduce myself to the world, kids. What should I say?”

Cinderella (age 6) pondered for just one little moment before proclaiming regally,

“I AM QUEEN OF THE WORLD!”

Well, good to know she holds me in such high esteem.  If indeed she was speaking for me and not for herself… I don’t think I want to know.

In the mean time, my the 4 year old sitting on my lap keeps hitting “enter” and telling me to write “Doodle.”
So here you go, kid:
Doodle doodle doodle doooooooooooooooooooooooooodle.

He wants me to do it again, but I’m not going to.  I have an introduction to write, after all.

“What else should I say?”
The quick but uncertain reply comes:
“I love Doodle?”

(at his 3rd bday party)

(at his 3rd bday party)

You bet I do!

I love all four kids & their handsome daddy, too.  Aside from keeping things running smoothly at home, I enjoy blogging (duh), writing (hence the blogging), keeping in touch with old friends (more blogging), making new ones (I’m noticing a pattern) and – oh, lots of other things.

It’s a good life here in Smithtopia. A little crazy at times, but for the most part we take a picture, laugh it off, write a post, and enjoy the ride.

For a few fun examples:

And you thought it was bad when your kid cut her hair…

Moments that make you think, “Aww…”

And…

Every once in a while I learn something new that makes a good “how-to,” and those posts are always a blast.

    Visiting from the party.
You have trained your kids right if they refer to you as queen. I’ll have to work on that! :)

  19. brooke on April 15, 2010 at 11:26 am

I stopped by for the party from UBP10 and see that I forgot my pirate gear… I feel so under dressed… hehee

  20. Michelle on April 15, 2010 at 3:33 pm

I love your sense of humor! And the great photos of your children. The fact that I am also a Mrs. Smith probably has nothing to do with it! :)

Just stopping in from the UBP. :)

  21. Evelyn on April 16, 2010 at 7:04 am

One word: HYSTERICAL! So glad I got on the UBP party bus!

  22. Marilyn Bohn on April 16, 2010 at 10:46 am

Actually I don’t envy you being queen of the world. Queens work so hard. Of course mommies do too but they don’t have to wear nylons all the time. :)

It is so great to get a new friend. This blog party is such a great way to connect! I am the mother of 5 grown daughters and I am an avid quilter and a professional organizer helping women get rid of clutter in their homes and lives.
I hope you have a fantastic day! I look forward to connecting with you.

I’m so late the UBP party is over, but I still wanted to check out the blogs! Unfortunately, life happened last week (of course) and so…I’m visiting today!

Love your wig post…reminded me of when my oldest daughter cut her hair off. I cried. It did grow back and she never did it again.

    Thanks for the laughs!
    Hope

That's a very good question.
I am happy to hear from you, thrilled to hear from you!, but I am also content to have you drop by, read a little, laugh a little, and move on quietly to whatever else you have to do. This is a guilt-free blog. ;)

Just a Reminder…

The Church is not a place where perfect people gather to say perfect things, or have perfect thoughts, or have perfect feelings. The Church is a place where imperfect people gather to provide encouragement, support, and service to each other as we press on in our journey to return to our Heavenly Father. ~Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin, (May 2005 Ensign)

Why I Try

God expects you to have enough faith and determination and enough trust in Him to keep moving, keep living, keep rejoicing. In fact, He expects you not simply to face the future (that sounds pretty grim and stoic); He expects you to embrace and shape the future - to love it and rejoice in it and delight in your opportunities. God is anxiously waiting for the chance to answer your prayers, and fulfill your dreams, just as He always has. But He can't if you don't pray, and He can't if you don't dream. In short, He can't if you don't believe.

~Jeffrey R. Holland, "This, the Greatest of All Dispensations"

"It is not for you to be led by the women of the world; it is for you to lead the...women of the world, in everything that is praise-worthy, everything that is God-like, everything that is uplifting and... purifying to the children of men." Joseph F. Smith, in this talk by Elder Ballard
