I dig it!

My hands feel weird.
Specifically my fingertips.
Is this what work-roughened hands feel like? Hm! Good to know!  It’s very, very different, and I feel almost guilty for just now discovering this feeling at the ripe old age of 28.

Note to self:
Maybe I should wear gloves the next time I till my entire 15x9ft garden the old-fashioned way.

But in case you were wondering, my garden looks fabulous.

I even covered it with the black-fabric-stuff I found for $18.99 at the store today — but did I pay that much?  NO. Heck no. I bought mine last fall for $0.50 at a garage sale. Same stuff, still in the shrink wrap even.

MAN, I love garage sales.  (Maybe this year I’ll find some stakes to hold down said weed-preventing black stuff.  Then all that random junk holding it down can go to a better place.)

And I love digging in the dirt.  Cue the oldies!
Icandigit, shecandigit, hecandigit, theycandigit, wecandigit… Can you dig it, ba-by?…

It was seriously SO much fun working in the cool almost-spring weather, and to not be pregnant.  What a difference!

I SO need to get out in the garden and till! I’ve really never done a garden before but would like to! But unfortunately I do have the pregnant factor-but I do need the excersize! Way to go on getting out there and getting it done!

Wow, very cool! I think you’re officially turning into my mom. :) JK. But really, I can’t wait to see pictures of your finished garden!

That's a very good question.
I am happy to hear from you, thrilled to hear from you!, but I am also content to have you drop by, read a little, laugh a little, and move on quietly to whatever else you have to do. This is a guilt-free blog. ;)

Just a Reminder…

The Church is not a place where perfect people gather to say perfect things, or have perfect thoughts, or have perfect feelings. The Church is a place where imperfect people gather to provide encouragement, support, and service to each other as we press on in our journey to return to our Heavenly Father. ~Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin, (May 2005 Ensign)

Why I Try

God expects you to have enough faith and determination and enough trust in Him to keep moving, keep living, keep rejoicing. In fact, He expects you not simply to face the future (that sounds pretty grim and stoic); He expects you to embrace and shape the future - to love it and rejoice in it and delight in your opportunities. God is anxiously waiting for the chance to answer your prayers, and fulfill your dreams, just as He always has. But He can't if you don't pray, and He can't if you don't dream. In short, He can't if you don't believe.

"It is not for you to be led by the women of the world; it is for you to lead the...women of the world, in everything that is praise-worthy, everything that is God-like, everything that is uplifting and... purifying to the children of men." Joseph F. Smith, in this talk by Elder Ballard
