New Look

Disclaimer: I don’t actually have any tag from “Bad-whatever.” Maybe the BlogFairy will fly by and fix it for me.

Aside from the text on that funky tag thing, I love the new look here. John helped me find it, and made sure that THIS layout was tracking traffic.

That’s right – my last “new look” wasn’t tracking any of you lovely visitors.   Imagine the heart-stopping panic that hit me the first time I checked my “stats” here and saw that NO ONE viewed my dear old blog.

No one?!!!!  Not one single person?  In, like, three days?  Is that even possible?!

“Okay, breathe in, breathe out…  The world is not ending.  Not really.  This is just for me anyway… breathe in, breathe out…  I’ve had four babies w/o drugs, I can handle a little rejection…”

And then, slouthe that I am, I realized that people had COMMENTED during that supposed dead-zone.

“Waaaaaaaaaaait a minute.  If someone commented, then surely they were also viewing it.  Ah-HA!  The darn new layout must have busted something.

“Boy, am I glad I wasn’t on candid-camera just then.  No one will ever know how bad that scared me.  Unless I blog about it, of course…”

But I left it broken for a while.  I tried to tell myself it didn’t matter.  I just blog for me, you know, as I said… but the truth is, I just love knowing the patterns in hits here. Some days of the week get ~80+, some days get, like, 5. It’s fascinating.

Oh, alright.  It’s only sort of fascinating.  Bottom line is, you make me feel loved, just by coming here to read my ramblings.  All of you.  Whatever your motivation behind it.

And I missed all those people-love-me-even-if-they-don’t-comment statistics.

So John fixed it for me.

Thanks, Sweetie. You’re the best.

Carry on, readers, carry on knowing that your reading this has been carefully logged by my Akismet Stats thingamabop.  And just for the record…

I love you, too.

I SOOOOOOO want to figure out that random pics widget you have! And a blogroll. The theme I have right now doesn’t have either as options. I’m assuming they’re widgets anyway….

But I LOVE my custom header and haven’t found another I really like. Though if moving would let me have a blogroll and random pics….

    Any tips?

Oh, and I’m sure that there are never 0 people. I stop by lots. ^_^

Hm. Looks like the new look lost the “reply” comment-thingy for me. Blast.
Well, suggestions, I have none, other than looking through the widgets for something about a “feed” of some kind for the blogroll. :) I’m sure it’s out there, and customizable, but I’m pretty clueless. “John” is the criminal mastermind behind it all.

The bad hotel tag is a place in Germany. I think bad means bath, like swimming pool feature. Right, Lara? : )

Love your ramblings, I read them all the time. With all of the problems we have getting together (i.e. toxic kids) it is fun to feel like I am still visiting with you.

I am in the same boat with blog stats . . . I try not to check them too obsessively, but sometimes I can’t help it.

To Comment or Not To Comment…

That's a very good question.
I am happy to hear from you, thrilled to hear from you!, but I am also content to have you drop by, read a little, laugh a little, and move on quietly to whatever else you have to do. This is a guilt-free blog. ;)

Just a Reminder…

The Church is not a place where perfect people gather to say perfect things, or have perfect thoughts, or have perfect feelings. The Church is a place where imperfect people gather to provide encouragement, support, and service to each other as we press on in our journey to return to our Heavenly Father. ~Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin, (May 2005 Ensign)

Why I Try

God expects you to have enough faith and determination and enough trust in Him to keep moving, keep living, keep rejoicing. In fact, He expects you not simply to face the future (that sounds pretty grim and stoic); He expects you to embrace and shape the future - to love it and rejoice in it and delight in your opportunities. God is anxiously waiting for the chance to answer your prayers, and fulfill your dreams, just as He always has. But He can't if you don't pray, and He can't if you don't dream. In short, He can't if you don't believe.

~Jeffrey R. Holland, "This, the Greatest of All Dispensations"

"It is not for you to be led by the women of the world; it is for you to lead the...women of the world, in everything that is praise-worthy, everything that is God-like, everything that is uplifting and... purifying to the children of men." Joseph F. Smith, in this talk by Elder Ballard
