Is it just me, or is it really fun to compare pictures of kids at the same age? Memory Lane is an awfully fun street to travel sometimes.

These are all taken when they were each roughly

4 months old.

I loved loved loved C’s hat and was so sad when she outgrew it. (It was made by my Mom, of course.  She really could do well with an etsy account…)

C

D was such a little snuggler.  Kind of like F is now.

D

E has a few pictures from back in the day (all of 18 months ago) where he looks like the rest of our crew here, but most of the photos show how much he really has his own look.  Such a funny little person!

E

F seems to be a little bit of each of his big siblings.  Fiesty at times like C, snuggly like D, interested in everything like E… and -as are all of them- mostly his own self.

Not that I ever compare my kids with each other.  Oh no.  Everyone knows you shouldn’t do that, so I never ever do.

It’s just that when I walk down Memory Lane,

it’s lined with these adorable little houses, all close together and so fun to look at…
C’s is wild and artsie.  New Age architecture meets Victorian princess castle.  Lots of blooming greenery too.  Feminine and fun.
D’s is a nice, solid, red brick house.  Inviting but sturdy.  Think 3rd little pig.
E’s also has a modern edge, but is more metal &… mechanic looking, for lack of a better description.  Like an engineer with an imagination built it to get a better view at the world.  I’m seeing a tower with a telescope.  And a jungle gym in the backyard.
F’s house is still under construction, but I’ll let you know how it turns out.

EDITED:
F currently has a treehouse in a big Eucalyptus tree.  (He’s our “koala bear” because of the way he is constantly grabbing and clinging to us.  So cute.)

Cute pictures. It’s hard for that NOT to happen when you have such cute kids, though.

I love the houses analogy! Give those kiddos a squeese from me!

Darling pictures and I love your thoughts on your kids. You are an incredible mom!

Perhaps I’m just obtuse (a possibility I’ll be the last to discount), but I’d never noticed the pattern of “C”, “D”, “E”, and “F”. I figure ‘Anita’ is good for “A”, but “John” doesn’t turn into “B” very well… until you make him “Bishop”. :)

Hahaha, Josh! I hadn’t thought of our Bishop filling that gap. Sweet!

That's a very good question.
I am happy to hear from you, thrilled to hear from you!, but I am also content to have you drop by, read a little, laugh a little, and move on quietly to whatever else you have to do. This is a guilt-free blog. ;)

Just a Reminder…

The Church is not a place where perfect people gather to say perfect things, or have perfect thoughts, or have perfect feelings. The Church is a place where imperfect people gather to provide encouragement, support, and service to each other as we press on in our journey to return to our Heavenly Father. ~Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin, (May 2005 Ensign)

Why I Try

God expects you to have enough faith and determination and enough trust in Him to keep moving, keep living, keep rejoicing. In fact, He expects you not simply to face the future (that sounds pretty grim and stoic); He expects you to embrace and shape the future - to love it and rejoice in it and delight in your opportunities. God is anxiously waiting for the chance to answer your prayers, and fulfill your dreams, just as He always has. But He can't if you don't pray, and He can't if you don't dream. In short, He can't if you don't believe.

"It is not for you to be led by the women of the world; it is for you to lead the...women of the world, in everything that is praise-worthy, everything that is God-like, everything that is uplifting and... purifying to the children of men." Joseph F. Smith, in this talk by Elder Ballard
